It's Cold!

Hello from Noodles and Sam,
No matter where you are in the world right now you are probably bearing some crazy weather. We spoke to Noodles and Sam and they want to be sure you take extra time and be super safe. They are in Long Island, New York today and they just checked in and told us that it's 34 degrees there. That's pretty cold, what's the weather like where you live?
Snow Days
Our friends from Germany have sent us some pictures. Although Noodles and Sam haven't gotten there yet our friends wanted us to see what the weather is like. Below is a picture of the city in Germany of where they are headed. The picture is of the local firehouse. All the snow you see in the picture has fallen just over the last week; it's piling up very quickly.
Always Looking
Noodles and Sam are always looking for ways to make their website better. They have received many great ideas and e-mails. They read all of them and as a result you will see some changes being made over the next week and months. All of us here really appreciate it.
Where in the World
Noodles and Sam have been all over the globe now. They have been everywhere from Battembang, Cambodia to Lytton, Iowa and places in between. Let us know what your favorite trip or adventure was. They get requests to go all over the world, let us know where you would like to see them go and learn about next and if we go there we will send you a Noodles and Sam bracelet for you and your family!
That's it
Well it has been a busy week for all of us. Thank you for being apart of The Adventures of Noodles and Sam where Learning About the World is Made Fun!
Until next time, Merry Christmas!,

Hello from Noodles and Sam,
They are leaving today for their next adventure. It is sure to be full of fun and excitement. The world of Noodles and Sam is growing everyday and this time of year really make us appreciate all of you who are apart of it. Noodles and Sam have followers in over 28 countries and 32 states. Please know how much fun we have with Noodles and Sam, look forward to doing this everyday and wish we could spend more time.
Smooth Sailing
We all want to thank their hosts from Germany and wish them a very Merry Christmas! We have had to work through some logistical bumps but it looks like it is smooth sailing from here. Their itinerary has changed a bit. They will now be heading to Long Island, New York for a few days before the trip to Dresden, Germany. They will also be in New York for New Years once they return from Germany. Below is a picture of the snow that is waiting for them in Dresden. They packed their snow suits so they will be ready!
Germany Here We Come!
Rocking Out
Noodles and Sam were invited yesterday to go Kansas next July for an adventure. That adventure will be a little different than the rest. They will be attending a Christian Worship Leaders Conference. While there they will be meeting several Christian singers (like Matt Redman, Rebecca St. James and more) and learn how they create the music they listen to. That is sure to be an incredible adventure.
Thats it,
for now. We will keep you posted on their trip. Please keep your e-mails, questions and suggestions coming. We want to say a special hello to our new friends in Long Island, New York!
Until next time,

Candy, Cargo & the Capital...Fun Stuff!

Hello from Noodles and Sam,
It has been a busy last few days for Noodles and Sam. They finished packing up for Germany and will be leaving in the morning. Since they will be spending Christmas there they have promised to send plenty of postcards. We think they are going to be so busy learning and having fun that they might forget to send them, we'll have to see.
Haiti
Noodles, Sam and the team got the pictures back from their Haiti Adventure. It was a fairly quick trip (considering some) and it was primarily focused in one area on rebuilding a church/school. It was great to be apart of it. We worked on the Haiti page this weekend on the website. We still have some work to do but check out the pictures.
Updates
Noodles and Same were busy updating their website the last few days. They were able to get a few new pages up. Pages like the Candy Shop, Skydiving, Washington D.C. and even U.P.S. We do want to thank Jerry at  Logan's Candies, Dan at Skydive Perris, Laura and Clements International and Morgan at the United Parcel Service. Without their help none of us would be able to learn about the great things they have showed and taught us. We have the pages up but we still need to add all of the great things we learned.
Patience
Noodles, Sam and the team want to thank you all for your patience. They have been traveling so much it is hard to get all of the great things they learn about on their website. Sometimes it takes longer than Noodles and Sam want but all of us here really want to thank you!
Well....thats it for now. We will keep you posted on how things go with Noodles and Sam's trip to Germany. As always we want to say thank you for being apart of this, There is something very special happening here and you all are apart of it. Before we go we want to say a big hello to our new friends in Paraiba, Brazil.
Merry Christmas,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam team

The Candy Man

Hello from Noodles & Sam,
Like always they want to say thank you to all of their many fans and followers. They appreciate all of the fun and friendly e-mails and invitations they get! They love learning from each of you so they can then teach it to the rest of the Noodles & Sam world, our world.
The Candy Man
Last night as you know Noodles and Sam got a front row seat at Logan's Candies while they were making candy canes. They got home to late to update their website with some of the pictures and fascinating things they learned. We will get some of them up today but we can tell you making candy canes is an amazing adventure. Logan's will hand make over 75,000 candy canes this Christmas season. One batch weighs 17 to 18 pounds and will make about 400. It was super cool and we want to thank Jerry, Susie, Abigail and the rest of the gang for letting us be apart of it!
New Zealand
Last night while making candy canes Noodles and Sam got a special invitation to New Zealand. They will be heading to Australia and New Zealand in April and now it looks like they will be heading back there during the summer. It looks like we all will have to have our thinking caps on next year, we will be busy learning all year long.
All Aboard
Noodles and Sam are packing up. They should have their suit cases packed this weekend and ready to leave on Monday for Germany. They have been practicing their German but it looks like they are really going to need Rachel (their host) to help them. They are very excited about the trip and about all of the things they are going to experience, see and learn.
Thats it for now. Noodles and Sam want to say a special hello to their new friend in Istanbul, Turkey!
Until next time, Merry Christmas from
Noodles and Sam and the team!

Busy Little Bees

The Adventures of Noodles and Sam - Skydiving adventure mini-movie.
Busy little Bees
We will have more information up in the next few days. Noodles and Sam have been super busy while they have been home. Thank you for all of the interest. They have been so busy, they have fallen behind on a lot of there projects for their website. They have a few mini movies they are still working on, book reviews and still have some pages they have been learning about that they need to finish. The team is slowing them down, they are running at a mile a minute. They have so many ideas and things they want to do it is hard to keep up. Be-assured we will get it done, promise.
This week!
This week they will be going to the famous Logan's Candy Shop in Ontario, California. They have been making real candy canes there since the 1930's. Noodles and Sam will have a front row seat to see and learn how candy canes are made. They are really excited. They are going on Wednesday because PBS and NBC Channel 4 will be there tonight and tomorrow night.
Packing there Bags
Later this week Noodles and Sam will start packing their bags for Germany. We will celebrate a mini Christmas with them and the team before they leave though. We all are very excited about the trip and to learn everything we can about Germany.
We want to give a special hello and thanks to Jerry and all of the girls down at Logan's Candies!
Until next time,

Filling Up!

Noodles and Sam say Hello!
Thank you!
Noodles and Sam and the team want to say a thank you to all of you. It has been a great month, made possible again by you. It is amazing to learn from each other and you allow us to experience the world through Noodles and Sam.
Up in the Sky
Noodles and Sam want to give another big, big thank you to Dan and Terry at Skydive Perris. They had a great time this past weekend and the more they look at the pictures the more they realize how much fun they had. Terry took some great pictures and video of their skydiving adventure. The team has actually put together a very neat video with some they took and with some Terry took. You will love it, so we will get it posted tonight.
Filling up
It looks like Noodles and Sam's schedule is filling up. They are going to have a couple of weeks of well needed time at home. Although they love traveling and seeing the world they also love being at home. The next few weeks will be great. After that they are headed off to Germany, then to Wyoming and then to New Zealand and Australia. They have some time in between so let them know if you have something you think we all would like to see.
It's a Wrap
Until next time be safe and have fun. Please let us know if there is something you would like to see on the website. We are always trying to update and improve it but sometimes it's hard to keep up.
Merry Christmas,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam Team

A-Maz-Ing!

What an amazing past few weeks! Noodles and Sam say hello and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers during this holiday season. Christmas is right around the corner and is Noodles and Sam's favorite holiday. Christmas is the absolute best! Being able to celebrate the birth of our lord and savior Jesus Christ is without a doubt their favorite holiday.
Busy Month
Over the past few weeks Noodles and Sam have: been to Cambodia, been to Haiti, received a VIP tour of Washington D.C. and topped it all off by going skydiving with their new friends at Skydive Perris.
Noodles & Sam w/ Dan from Skydive Perris - 12,500ft in the air!
Celebration
This month they will be leaving shortly for their German adventure where they will be spending Christmas. They are excited to spend sometime at home before they leave for Germany. They even turned down a trip for this week to Dallas and Jacksonville just so they could spend a couple of extra days at home. However, they are looking forward to their Germany Adventure and to see how Christmas is celebrated in another country. They will return just in time to celebrate New Year's Eve and Day with the Team here.
Tell a Friend
That's it for now. Please keep your great e-mails coming and keep spreading the word about The Adventures of Noodles and Sam. Today we are at 237 Facebook likes, tell your friends and let's see how high we can get their number!

Movie trailer - Must see!

Hey everybody,

Noodles and Sam are still in Washington D.C. having a great time but will be back tomorrow. We know they are learning a lot but we can't wait to see them. They have been traveling so much we have really been missing them. It will be great to have them home for Thanksgiving. We hope you all are planning something special with family too!

We received the full video of Noodles and Sam's visit to Cambodia. The video shows them in Battembang, around town, at the school and just experiencing life there. It is really "Life Unedited". The video we received is really long so there is a lot to go through. We want to combine it with the Skype call we did when they were there. It is going to take a while to go through but until then we made a "movie trailer" for it. We ran out of time yesterday and only put it on the site, we will put it on The Noodles and Sam YouTube channel later today.

Go to the site, it's a must see!!! It's awesome and the coolest thing we've done yet.

Until next time,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam Team

Hello from Noodles & Sam,
Very Cool
Noodles and Sam were invited to go to New Zealand and Australia in April with some new friends. This adventure will be slightly different than the other adventures they have been on. They will actually be traveling there with their new friend Megan. What makes this adventure different is it is packed full of crazy stuff. We will share more with you as we get closer to the date (April 1st - April 17th) but they will be doing things like ice climbing, going on a jet boat, gondola ride, camping and more. It is going to be one crazy trip. Noodles and Sam are really excited.

As you can see from the picture that we finally got our UPS adventure pictures. We really want to thank UPS for the tour and learning adventure they provided us. We know that Morgan at UPS worked really hard on putting it together. Noodles and Sam learned a lot at the UPS air cargo hub in Ontario, California. The pictures are great and we will have all of them on the website soon.

Life is Good!

The Noodles and Sam Team say hello,

We are sure Noodles and Sam would say hello and give you a big thank you today but we haven't talked to them. As you probably know they are somewhere in Port-au-Prince Haiti today. We hope everyone is doing well. Your messages have been great and some of the things you all are doing are amazing. It is so interesting to learn about different cultures of the world. Please keep them coming.
Bugged Out
Just before Noodles and Sam left for Haiti they were bugged out. One afternoon they had a  praying mantis show up outside. They thought it was super cool and although they have been around the world they hadn't seen one up close. A day or two later a while hanging out outside they came across a tarantula. Yes, that's right a tarantula! Again, although they have been all over the world they had never seen a real one. Now Noodles and Sam want to go learn more about bugs. They aren't sure where to go, so let us know if you have a great place to learn about bugs by where you live and they can come visit you. Tell us what you think.
Schools in Session
The Noodles and Sam team were contacted yesterday by one of the local schools about the The Adventures of Noodles and Sam website. They wanted to discuss how they could use it in some of the classrooms. It was really neat for a few reasons. The first reason was that the kids in school would be able to see and learn about all of the great things Noodles and Sam are doing. The second reason was they wanted to make sure the site was secure and safe. Once the call was over it was all set; The Adventures of Noodles and Sam is going to be used in some of the classrooms during what they call the "free time". Everybody at the Adventures of Noodles and Sam are really excited and can't wait to tell Noodles and Sam when they return.
Quite on the Set
We spoke to Cambodia yesterday and found out the official name of the school. Up until this point Noodles and Sam and the team only knew it was a primary school. The official name is Ty-rathanak Primary School, Battambang Province. The principal of the school, principal Tep also told our contact he was sending out the video that he taped for Noodles and Sam. We will keep you posted. The team here has been using i-movie to edit the Cambodia Skype call. It has been challenging. Let us know if you have any more tips or tricks. Noodles and Sam are really new to website designing, movie editing, etc. so your help is really appreciated, really!
Last But Not Least
Noodles and Sam really enjoyed raising the money and helping the kids in Cambodia. Although it wasn't much they were happy that they could help in any way. Let Noodles and Sam know if you have some place that you think they should try and help. They would love to hear about it.
Thank you
Noodles and Sam say thank you for your great e-mails and want to say a special hello to their new friends in Simi Valley, California and Ontario, Canada.
Until next time,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam team

Paparazzi Here we Come

Noodles and Sam say hello and goodbye,
As always they want to thank you for your great e-mails! From California to New Zealand to Denmark to Mumbai and all of the places in between you all are truly amazing. You guys are great. With so many bad things going on in the world it is neat to see that there are so many good and honest people. So many people who care about each other and want to learn more about the world we live in.
Now with all of that said let's get you plugged into the latest goings on with Noodles and Sam. We may need your help with some of it so read carefully and let us know:
Hello & Goodbye
Noodles and Sam are leaving today for Haiti. As you know they will be traveling with a team of doctors and nurses. They should be coming home later this week. Hurricane Thomas just passed through Haiti so the country is recovering from the earthquake of last January and now the hurricane. Keep the people of Haiti, the doctors, nurses and Noodles and Sam in your prayers.
Sky High
A few months back we mentioned that Noodles and Sam might be going sky diving. Well it has all been set up. The weekend of Thanksgiving (November 27th - 28th) they will be going skydiving with a group from Perris Valley Skydiving. We are not sure if they will have a video or just pictures but we will be sure to put them on The Adventures of Noodles and Sam website for you to see. It will be cool to see what skydiving is like. Any tips let us know.
Paparazzi
Noodles and Sam met the Mayor last week. He is a fantastic guy and was helpful in explaining what he does for our city. We took some great pictures and an even better video. One bad thing, our video camera didn't work so we lost the whole thing. We did get a call the next from his office inviting us to the annual Founders Day Parade. The parade marks the birthday of the city and all of it's accomplishments. Noodles and Sam will be riding in the parade with Mayor Kurth. They were also invited to join him at the "Dignitary" breakfast before the parade. There will be mayors, county supervisors, photographers and reporters there. Noodles and Sam are super excited and can't wait for this Saturday (November 13th) Be sure to come to the parade if you can. Thanks Mayor Kurth!
We want to thank everybody and say a special hello to our new friends in Dallas, Texas and Copenhagen, Denmark.
Until next time,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam team

Amazing, Thank You

Hello from Noodles & Sam!
The last few weeks have been amazing. Noodles and Sam (and the team) have had so many great things going on it is hard to keep up. Thank you  to our friends around the world for your great e-mails and adventure offers. The response to Noodles and Sam is amazing! Take a look at some of the happenings around The Adventures of Noodles and Sam...
Haiti
Noodles and Sam will be leaving next week to go to Haiti. They will be going there with a team of doctors and nurses on a missions trip. They are very excited about this trip. Haiti is a special place to them and has been in their prayers since the horrible earthquake. This trip came up unexpectedly and they didn't have a chance to raise any money for the kids there. They are hoping they will get another chance to go in the near future and will have time to raise money.
Washington D.C.
Noodles and Sam were scheduled to visit Washington D.C. next week. Due to the Haiti trip the D.C. trip had to be rescheduled. The family they will be visiting in D.C. offered to move their trip out a week to allow Noodles and Sam to visit Haiti and still visit D.C. Noodles and Sam want to say a big thank you to them.
Voting
Noodles and Sam voted for the first time yesterday. It was a great experience and they learned how important it is. They learned about the process of studying the candidates, visiting the polling location and actually filling out your ballot. We have some great pictures and should have them on the site in the next few days. It was great!
Wristbands
Our "The Adventures of Noodles and Sam" wristbands have arrived. We have started sending them out to all of the members of the Noodles and Sam Fan Club. If you are a member you should be receiving it in the next week. If not be sure to become a member and you will get one too. We will get a picture of them on the site, they are pretty cool. Everybody loves them (they were designed by Noodles and Sam)
It's a wrap
We are trying to get some of the open projects wrapped up on The Adventures of Noodles and Sam. We are still finishing the Cambodia page and video, book review videos, and several other little projects. Noodles and Sam have so much going on it is hard to keep up. Thank you for making them so popular! Make sure to find us on Facebook.
Until next time,

Well Were Home!!

Hello Everyone,
Well  Noodles and Sam returned home a yesterday, they had a wonderful trip to Cambodia.  We are in the process of doing our homework for the Cambodia page.  Those pictures will be up very soon, Noodles and Sam  learned so much about the country and we are very excited to share what they learned.  The Skype video call is almost done being edited and should be up on the website this weekend.  We want to thank all the kind people of Cambodia for all their wonderful support and help in coordinating our trip.  We have made several friends and were greatful for the opportunity.

Coming Soon:
Noodles and Sam have several projects in the works, we are excited about the fun items we'll have on the website real soon.  Some items to look out for will be a new teach/parent page, on this page you will be able to find lesson plans.  Those plans will incorporate the use of The Adventures Of Noodles And Sam website, they are designed to be interactive.  We are also going to start a book club for all our friends because Noodles and Sam think it is really important for kids to read daily, we will have discussions and book reviews.
The Adventures Of Noodles And Sam will also have an online store where you can purchase Noodles and Sam merchandise and specialty items that will be offered exclusively thru The Adventures Of Noodles And Sam.  A portion of all sales will go back to charity, stay tuned for details.

Feedback:
We have a question for all our followers out there, we have started to put the adventures on both a website page with pictures and captions and a learning video.  Is there a preference for one or the other?  We would appreicate some feedback, we want to make sure we are putting the information Noodles and Sam bring home in the format people like to read or watch.

We want to say a great big Noodles and Sam hello to our friends in Hawaii-USA, Brazil, France and Canada I am sure we will be visiting those places real soon. We want to thank all our friends and followers from all over the world for all their support and great emails.  Keep them coming, we love to recieve mail.  Thank you again!

Lots of Things Going On!

Noodles and Sam say hello,
They have been so busy getting ready to come home we haven't spoken to them much the last few days. They have been in a part of Cambodia with no internet and little phone access. This has been there longest trip yet; although they are doing some great things we are missing them and can't wait until they get home on Thursday!
They have a lot of exciting things going on so we have been helping them out here while they are gone. Some of the things we need your help with.....
International Skype Video
As you probably know our skype video call to Cambodia went great but wow, editing the video is way more time consuming than we expected. Let us know if you have any tips or suggestions, the help would be great. Keep in mind we use a Mac.
Around The World
All of your e-mails have been great. Noodles and Sam would love to come visit you and learn about where you live. Remember that kids and families all over the world want to see what makes where you live special no matter how big or small your city is. The more information the better. We would love to know if there is a learning or travel adventure you haven't seen. Let us know at info@noodlesandsam.com !
Haiti
We are pretty excited to share some news with Noodles and Sam when they return from Cambodia. They have had a desire to see Haiti and hopefully bring some attention to the long road of healing that is still ahead of them. They have been wanting to raise some money for the kids there like they did for the kids in Cambodia. It is a desire they pray about everyday. We found out yesterday that our church will be sending a medical team there next month. We spoke to the missions pastor about taking Noodles and Sam with them. Hopefully it will work out, if not we will wait for the next opportunity and keep the people there in our prayers.
UPS
We mentioned a while back that UPS invited Noodles and Sam to take a learning adventure tour of their 3rd largest facility. We took the tour and they were great but due to security reasons we weren't allowed to take the pictures. UPS took all of the pictures during the tour and explained everything as we went along. Unfortunately we have never heard from them again. We hope their tour team is okay and we hope they will eventually send us the pictures so we can share them with you. It is really strange.
Remember to Vote
Next week Noodles and Sam will be visiting the Mayor of our city as well as meeting all of the city council members. They were learning about government just before they left and how important it is to vote. One thing they reminded The Noodles and Sam team about was to make sure you study before you vote. Make sure you know what you are voting for before you get there. They will be voting so I am sure they will have pictures for you.
Facebook & Twitter
Make sure to check us out on Facebook and Twitter (the team thinks 222 friends and growing is pretty awesome)! Keep spreading the word and help us get the number even higher. We would love it if you could help us get it to 500.
Thank You,
It has been another great week at The Adventures of Noodles and Sam. we want to thank all of our friends from around the world. As always we want to say a special hello to our new friends in Washington D.C. and New York City, New York.
Until next time,

Incredible!

Noodles and Sam say hello again from Cambodia,
Noodles and Sam are still in Cambodia having a fun time and learning a lot. Everybody there has been so nice to them! As we mentioned last time our call to them was great but they weren't able to see the kids at the school they raised the money for. So Noodles and Sam decided to cancel their Hawaii adventure and stay in Cambodia  for a few extra days or as long as it takes. They really want to make sure they get to the school. They brought a lot of fun questions with them and they can't wait to meet all of the kids there. Besides all of that they have been looking forward to bringing the donated money and talking to them for weeks. Noodles and Sam apologized to their Hawaii hosts. Although they were disappointed about not seeing Hawaii they know they are doing something special. One of their Cambodia hosts is going to video tape their visit to the school and send it back with them. We will definitely keep you updated.
We are still working on editing the skype video call we made last week. It is taking a little longer than expected but we were able to get a picture of it on the website. To have our team talk to Noodles and Sam from around the world you realize they are doing something really incredible, (as you all remind us). They aren't trying to recreate a paper doll that was created in the 60's. What they are doing is trying to do is teach and connect kids from around the world in way that is relevant to todays technological culture around them.  Over the course of the last few days we got the official names and titles of who Noodles and Sam were with on the call and who we spoke to. The gentlemen's name is Veasnaten and he is the Director of Foreign Affairs for Cambodia. Sokunthea was the nice young lady we spoke to and she is the assistant to the Director of Foreign Affairs.
Before Noodles and Sam had left they had been working on a new way to present everything they learn on their adventures. Instead of just listing some information with the pictures they decided to start making a little video. The first one Noodles and Sam did was of their Japan adventure. We put it on the blog page on the website and it also can be found on YouTube. Let us know what you think. So far the response has been amazing and we appreciate all of the great feed back,  so it looks like they will be doing more of them.
There is always so many good things happening with The Adventures of Noodles and Sam it is hard to know where to stop. Noodles and Sam were contacted about going on another Africa adventure. Instead of going to South Africa this time they will be heading to the northern part, Senegal, Africa. The adventure is booked for spring of next year so we will keep you posted.
As always thank you for all of your great e-mails and correspondence! We want to say a special hello to our friends in Lublin, Poland and Chelyabinsk, Russia. Let us know when you are ready and Noodles and Sam will come visit you.
Until next time,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam Team

The Adventures of Noodles and Sam - Japanese Adventure

Hello from the Adventures of Noodles and Sam team!
Noodles and Sam are still in Cambodia but we wanted to show you a video we finished that we have been working on. It is about their adventure to Japan and everything they learned while they were there. We learned a lot and had a really fun time making it. Check it out and let us know what you think!
Until next time,

It was Amazing!

Noodles and Sam say Good Night (they mean Good Morning),
It is actually night time right now in Cambodia but we heard from them just before the went to sleep. We had a great time last night and even were able to see them all the way from Cambodia. As you know and as we had all been planning for weeks we were going to do a Skype video call with Noodles and Sam and the class that we raised the money for. We had heard a few days ago that they may not be able to get internet access to the school. It is located in Battembang, Cambodia which is some what of a remote province and not as developed as other parts of the country. They will be taking lots of pictures when they get to Battembang which you will get to see when Noodles and Sam return from their trip.
So we were a little bummed out after all of the planning and anticipation for the trip and the video call didn't happen with the kids. But something did happen and it was truly, totally, amazing! Noodles and Sam are being treated like rock stars. They are being taken all over and experiencing Cambodia like VIP's. They are currently in Phnom Penh which is the capital city. It is where the Cambodian Parliament works and where the king lives. Knowing that the kids from the school in Battembang wouldn't be able to be there, Noodles and Sam's hosts arranged for a member of the Cambodian Parliament and his assistant to speak with us instead. Being a member of the Cambodian Parliament is very similar to being a Congressman here. It was so awesome!! It was really incredible for our team and Noodles and Sam to see each other from around the world. In the video you can see windows behind us and it is daylight on their side and dark on the ours with Noodles and Sam sitting there on his desk helping him out. The kids had come ready to ask the Cambodian school kids all kinds of questions so when they found out they were going to be speaking to a member of the Parliament they switched quickly and asked some great questions. Although the conversation was in english we did have someone fluent in both languages on our side help translate a few "american english" words to help the call. It was a really cool learning experience and we can't wait to do it again. We are set to do in January with the school in Wyoming and we have confirmed the have internet in the class.
So what about the money? Well Noodles and Sam will be leaving today and heading to the elementary school in Battembang. When they get there the school principal is going to video tape Noodles and Sam's visit, the donation and the kids answering Noodle's and Sam questions that we sent (the ones they were going to ask last night). When they are done he is going to send the tape back with Noodles and Sam. Hopefully this will work out, it seems a little easier.
We started editing the Skype video call today; because we are a little new to video stuff it takes longer we are hoping to finish it this weekend and have it on our site by Monday, thats the plan.
On a totally different subject, Noodles and Sam were invited to go sky diving in early November. They are going to make a video of that so that should be really fun to!
Thank you again for all of your great e-mails. Please keep sending your ideas and requests, we love to read them. Today, we just want to say a HUGE, we mean GIANT thank you to Cortina, Jolie and Miza for making it all happen yesterday!!!

Until next time,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam Team

Time to Get Excited

Noodles and Sam say Hello from Cambodia,
We have heard from them a few times since Saturday and they are having a fantastic time. They said the people are amazing and generous, their hosts have been excellent tour guides; teaching them so much and the country is over flowing with rich culture. They said that everybody should visit Cambodia sometime. Things have been going so well that they have even sent a few pictures already. Tomorrow Noodles and Sam will be heading to the city of Battembang where the school is located. Due to the time difference from Cambodia to here we will be doing the Skype video call tomorrow evening (if all goes well). We have to keep in mind that evening here is morning there. We are so eager and thrilled about seeing and talking to Noodles and Sam and the kids from the school there while we are here.
We follow that good news with more good news. As we have all come to expect good news seems to like hanging around The Adventures of Noodles and Sam. We finally received the pictures from their Minnesota and Idaho adventures last night. We only had a chance to peak at them but they looked great. We should have them up by tomorrow. We want to thank Kathy and Jeff for being such a great hosts (even if they are USC fans, as you will see)Thank you again!
Over the weekend Noodles and Sam finished the "Congress Adventure" video they had been working on. It took them a little longer than expected but it looks great. They had fun doing it and had a lot of great ideas in putting it together. We want to thank Megan and the team at the Congressman's office again for making it happen. Check out the video on our Blog page or on our website and let us know what you think.
We also want to thank the great people at PETA for commenting on the Noodles and Sam Humane Society video and putting a link to it on their website. We have received so much attention from that, it's crazy! It does make Noodles and Sam feel like they are really making a difference. They want to remind you that their dog Josie is from the pound and she is great. You all can make a difference too.
We always want to thank you for all of the great e-mails we receive. You all are kind and supportive and we really do appreciate everyone we get. We would like to say a special hello to our new friends in London, England and San Antonio, Texas, USA and North Hollywood, California, USA
Until next time,

Noodles & Sam, Our Ambassadors to the World

Noodles and Sam say "Jum-reap soo-a (or Hello),"
They have been practicing different sayings like hello in the Cambodian language in anticipation of their trip. As you know they are headed to Cambodia tomorrow and will be there for the next week or so. They have been pretty excited about this trip for awhile now. We want to thank everybody who donated money for the school kids they will be visiting. We had a lot of generous donors and just beat our goal of $150. The money is going to be well spent and we know the kids will be very excited when they get it. The money will go along way in Cambodia and the kids there will be able to use it for many things. The school they will be visiting is located in Battembang, Cambodia. We were told today that there is limited internet access at the school if any. We are hoping to do the Skype video call from the school but if not we have worked it out to do the call with some of the kids from the school at the nearest point with internet access. We are really excited and want to thank our donors and our hosts for making it possible.
It has been a really busy week around here, in a good way. We didn't get as much done on our new videos and on our new pictures as we wanted to. We are still learning how to edit and adjust the videos we take so it takes a little longer to get them on our website than our normal adventure pictures do. We should have our videos with the Congressman and our video book reviews all on the site this weekend. It should be a beautiful weekend here, perfect for catching up.
Which brings up a little side note; Noodles and Sam checked and while the weather should be beautiful here this weekend it is going to be about 90 degrees and raining in Cambodia. They are excited to be there and experience how different our world is but also see how somethings don't change no matter where you are in the world. Things like how there are nice and caring people everywhere; it could be Japan, South Africa, Cambodia or right out your back door. We are learning many things from Noodles and Sam and from all of their adventures. They have helped us learn about what a Congressman does, or how many planets there are or even the name of the South African President. Most of all they have allowed us to connect to people of all ages, colors, borders, languages, religions and brought us together as one. Noodles and Sam have made these far away people and places seem like they weren't so far away; even as if they were right next door. Noodles and Sam's hope is that you will feel the same way and that they will be our ambassadors to the world.
Please let us know if you would like Noodles and Sam to come visit you. It doesn't matter how small your town is; every place is special. In January they will be visiting a town in Wyoming, USA that has an official population of 12 residents. As we mentioned Noodles and Sam will doing another Skype video call from there elementary school near the town they will be visiting. They will also be spending a day with a few of the kids there. They are going to see what life is like for the kids and what they have to do besides school and homework. We are told that before school some of the kids have to get up really early and feed the farm animals even when it is below zero temperatures and all kinds of stuff like that. Noodles and Sam are really looking forward to seeing what life is like for the kids there.
Thank you again for all the great e-mails! We love getting them. We will be sending out our new Noodles and Sam wristbands this weekend to all of the Noodles and Sam fan club members. Send us an e-mail if you would like one and you aren't a fan club member yet.
We would like to say a special hello to our new friends in Maryland, USA, Bali, India and Stockholm, Sweden.
Until next time,
The Adventures of Noodles and Sam team

Friends Around The World

Noodles and Sam say Hello!
It seems almost like every day and every week there is something great happening or in the planning stages with Noodles and Sam. Thanks to all of you they have thousands of friends around the world. They will be visiting each one of you, one adventure at a time and have "The Adventures of Noodles and Sam" www.noodlesandsam.com website be the place where we can all experience the adventures together. None of this would be possible without you, you are "The Adventures with Noodles and Sam".
We still haven't received the pictures back from our Minnesota and Idaho adventures as well as our UPS learning adventure but we are expecting them any day. We will be sure to get them on the site as soon as we get them. We did get the pictures back from our Japan adventure. We put them on the site yesterday and they are great. We had an awesome time and want to thank Jim and Adam for being such great adventure guides. We have the pictures on the site and will have some info about Japan on the site in the next day or two. Check them out, we think you will like them!
Noodles and Sam found out yesterday that PETA put a link on their website to ours with our Humane Society video. The video meant a lot to Noodles and Sam and hope it helps all the animals in shelters. Our dog is from a shelter and she is the best!
We visited the office of Congressman David Dreier on Monday. We want to thank Megan and the Congressman for putting it together. Although he wasn't able to make it back from Washington D.C. in time we had a good time learning about what he does. We learned a lot! Noodles and Sam made a video of the trip and will have it on the website soon. They are trying to arrange a trip for Noodles and Sam to visit the Congressman in Washington D.C., we will keep you posted on that learning adventure.
Our Cambodia, Hawaii, and Washington adventures are all coming up soon. We have several others in the scheduling stages now. Keep your invitations coming, although there is only one Noodles and Sam they get really creative when it comes to adding trips to their schedule.
We want to say a special hello to our new friends in Manilla, Philippines, Auckland, New Zealand and Las Vegas, Nevada
Until next time,

A Special Time of Year

Hello everybody!
Noodles and Sam made it back from Japan and are all rested up. They heard from their Minnesota and Idaho adventure hosts and should be getting the trip pictures tomorrow or Wednesday. We will get those up as soon as we get them.
You may have seen but in case you didn't they made a new video yesterday and we have put it on the site for them. It is a quick update of what is happening this week. They had a great time making it as you will see. They have some great news to share with everybody. They received an invitation to go to Germany around Christmas time. They told us that Christmas is a very, very special time of year there. They will spend Christmas in Germany but New years at home. We are sad that they won't be with us but happy that they will be sharing such a special time with new friends and learning about such an interesting place like Germany. They also received an invitation to go to Wyoming in January. All of their adventures have been great but this one is shaping up to be awesome! Noodles and Sam will be visiting a first grade class when they get there. We will then do another Skype video call from the classroom but this time we are going to try (try is the key word) to do the video call to our classroom. This will allow the students in Wyoming to see our class and us to see theirs. There is some other things we are going to be doing but we will save that for the next blog.
They are pretty busy and have a lot to get dialed in before they leave for Cambodia but they always have time for your e-mails. Please continue to send them; they love reading and responding to all of them. We want to say hello to our new friends in Upton, Wyoming, USA, Germany and Ontario, California, USA
Until next time,

Noodles and Sam, On the campaign trail...kinda

Noodles and Sam say greetings from "the land of the rising sun",
They have been having a great time in Kyoto and Tokyo and have a lot to share with us. They will be coming home this weekend and I am sure will need a day just to rest. On Monday we will be visiting United States Congressman David Dreier's office, which we are all very excited about! We will be sure to get those pictures and everything we learn on the site as soon as we can. Let us know if there are any questions you would like us to ask him before we go.
We heard from our new friends in Cambodia today. They asked if we could reschedule our trip for a few days later. We said no problem, so instead of leaving next Tuesday for Cambodia, we will be leaving next Saturday. We are all still very excited about doing our Skype phone call from here to Cambodia while Noodles and Sam are there. So because our trip was pushed back a couple of days so will our call.
We spoke to Donna, the assistant to Mayor Don Kurth, the mayor of our city and we will be visiting him on November 3rd. He also invited us to stay for the city council meeting. We are looking forward to seeing what a mayor's day is like and what happens behind the scenes of the city council. We want to thank Mayor Kurth and his executive assistant Donna for the invitation and for setting this all up!
Noodles and Sam always want to thank you for the great e-mails they receive. The response is amazing and you all really make this world a better place. Please keep sending them, Noodles and Sam love responding to all of you. Today they want to say a special hello to their new friends in San Antonio, Texas, Alberta Canada and San Francisco, California.
Until next time,

Wow, what a week!

Noodles and Sam say konnichiha (pronounced as konnichiwa) or hello from Japan,
They are having a great time there and have told us there is so much to see and learn. They told us they will have some cool pictures for us when they get back.
Yesterday Noodles and Sam received a phone call from the office of United States Congressman David Dreier. They have have been invited to his office to see and learn a bit about what he does. They were very excited! N & S have received many e-mails that their website is being used in classrooms all over the country. Their visit to the Congressman's office should be a great trip for everybody to learn from. Thanks Congressman Dreier!
Noodles and Sam were also invited to take a tour of the local UPS (United Parcel Service) shipping facility. It is the 3rd largest in the country and employs over 3500 people. They learned just how they get to all of those fun and interesting places they get to. We should have those pictures on the site in the next few days. We want to give a special thanks to Morgan and the gang at UPS!
Noodles and Sam want to thank everybody for all of their fantastic e-mails they have been receiving from across the country and around the world. They realize how special you all are and you are what makes their adventures so fun and unique. Please keep sending the e-mails, they will get to all of them and maybe they will come see you!
Finally, Noodles and Sam have been asked lots and lots for Noodles and Sam "stuff". They will soon have some Adventures of Noodles and Sam bracelets available. They won't have a lot of them so be sure to get your name on the list! (P.S. Hello to our new friends in Luxembourg, Mumbai, and the Bronx.)
Until next time, keep exploring!

The Adventures of Noodles & Sam - Humane Society

Good news and Bad news

Hello again,
First the bad news, thanks to our friend Hurricane Earl our Washington D.C. trip/adventure was canceled. That was a big bummer! Now for the good news, we had some great people contact us from Chicago so Noodles and Sam are leaving this afternoon for the windy city. We are really excited. They are planning on being there until next Wednesday or so. Their hosts have told us they have planned a bunch of stuff for them to see and learn about. They are going to be taking Noodles and Sam to the top of the Sears tower just to name one of the fun things they have planned. Their Chicago hosts asked if we could find little jackets for Noodles and Sam, they said it gets cold at the top of the tower. September is a busy month for Noodles and Sam; full of fun, adventure and learning. Be sure to check back.

Getting Ready for Washington DC

Hi Everyone,
Well today Noodles and Sam went on a photo shoot with our mom, that's a first! They were taking some photos of the new model homes for KB Home. Noodles and Sam learned all about how photographer's use lighting and how they edit and prepare the photos for release to the customer. Noodles and Sam kept on trying to get in the photograph and were climbing on all the equipment. Needless to say Noodles and Sam wanted all the photos to be taken of them.
Now we are getting them ready to go to Washington D.C., they should have a great time. They are looking forward to learning about all the great monuments. They will be back next week after Labor Day!

Help Us Reach Our Goal

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to give an update. On October 5th, Noodles and Sam will be traveling to Battambang, Cambodia. We would like to send $1 for each student with Noodles and Sam. That is a total of $150, we only have $127 to go. The dollar may not seem like a lot of money however in Cambodia it goes a very long way. When Noodles and Sam arrive in Cambodia we will do a live Skype video call so when the students in Cambodia see the money we will say SURPRISE!! We will also be recording a "virtual field trip" so we can share with all the schools and our friends here in the U.S. what school is like in Cambodia. We will also be able to ask questions to the Cambodia student and they can ask us questions as well. We will put the video on line. Please go to the www.noodlesandsam.com and click on the "giving back" tab and you can donate on line. Please contact us at info@noodlesandsam.com with any questions.
Thanks for your help,
Ava and Jakob

Noodles and Sam have been having a super cool time, thanks to everyone for all their help in making these trips possible. Please look at the calendar for trips coming up. Talk to you soon,

Flying High

The last few days have been very busy. Noodles and Sam have been trying to squeeze a lot in, over the coarse of the last week we have visited a private charter jet company, a plane museum, the Sheriff's station and the hospital to learn about ambulances. Since the Sheriff's station was close to the court house we tried to sneak in to meet a judge. Unfortunately, we were turned down by a bailiff. They all have been very cool but the private jet and the ambulance were at the top of the list. We wanted to say thank you to Carol, Shiv and the gang at Mach One Jet Charters for letting us come in, Deputy Sheriff Laing and EMT's Meza and Martgan for teaching us about how they help all of us.
Noodles and Sam are now off to ride with their uncle Steve for a few days. He is a train Engineer for Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad. We are going to learn all about trains, how they work and how important they are to all of us.

Wins and Losses

The kids heard back today from a few places they had contacted. They had contacted the San Bernardino County Court house and requested that they get to meet a real judge as well as see the inside of a real court room. Ava told me she wanted to ask him how they became a judge. Unfortunately, the court said no.
We also had contacted two large manufacturing plants near where we live. We contacted the Coca Cola facility and the Frito-Lay plant. They thought it would be neat to see how things were made and thought other people would want to see it to. Unfortunately both places said no.
They did have a win today though. They had me contact UCLA to take a tour. Noodles and Sam had already visited one college while on their Texas Adventure but didn't get to see the inside of a classroom. The kids wanted Noodles and Sam (and themselves) to see what it looked like firsthand. They thought that other kids would want to see it as well.
UCLA was great, said yes and we are going to tour the campus this Friday.

Noodles and Sam - 1st post

This is our first post for The Adventures of Noodles and Sam using this format. The kids wanted a place where we could post our thoughts but where others could share as well. Hopefully this will be what they were looking for.
God Bless.
